Job Summary

At Ansys, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation and driving human advancement through simulation software. As a Senior R&D Engineer F/M, you'll collaborate with our team of developers and simulation experts to develop high-performant modules, services, and APIs for numerical simulation data processing. Your expertise in physics simulation concepts and software best-practices will enable you to propose solutions to challenges in simulation workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, maintain, test, and document software modules, services, and sub-systems in the area of multi-physics.
  • Interact with Finite Element kernels and understand best practices.
  • Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
  • Understand marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues.
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience, or PhD with 1 year experience.
  • Working experience in technical software development via academic, research, or industry experience.
  • Good understanding and skills in C++ and Python programming.
  • Problem-solving oriented and understanding of physics (mechanics, electronics, or fluid mechanics).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical knowledge and experience with Finite Element simulation, CAD modeling.
  • Passion for crafting robust and efficient code.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
