About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our R&D team in Zaragoza, Spain. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of projects related to the electrical performance of dry transformers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Propose and analyze innovative ideas in the electrical design of dry-type transformers to meet the challenging technical requirements of transformers for new markets.
  • Define Design of Experiments for validating proposed solutions.
  • Design and supervise the manufacturing and testing of prototypes.
  • Lead the R&D project execution, ensuring performance, time, and cost are within expectations.
  • Document project progress, obtain conclusions, and derive design rules for validated solutions.
  • Protect validated solutions by applying corresponding IP solutions.
  • Support other R&D colleagues from the Hitachi Energy RD community by analyzing and optimizing the electrical design of other R&D projects.
  • Provide punctual technical support to factories, salespeople, and customers.

Your Background

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or similar. Higher formal education will be meriting.
  • At least 2 years' experience in product development and/or design of electrical equipment, preferably dry-type transformers.
  • Knowledge of magnetic, electric, and/or thermal design of electrical equipment.
  • Strong background in use of electrical FEM simulation (preferably ANSYS Maxwell) will be well valuable.
  • Initiative, creativity, 'out of the box' thinking, and great attention to detail.
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
