At Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S. A., we are seeking a talented Renewable Energy Systems Engineer to join our team. As a leading player in the wind industry, we are passionate about driving the energy transition and providing innovative solutions that meet the growing energy demand of the global community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and integrating electrical simulation models for wind turbines and wind farms, with a focus on transient stability studies. This will involve creating and integrating compiled code (DLLs) into simulation tools, as well as testing model performance and analyzing results.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Development of Wind Turbine and/or Wind Farms Regulator electrical simulation models in Electromagnetic Transient models with specific features (snapshot, encryption, multi-run).
  • Integrate DLLs or automatically generated code.
  • Test model performance and analyze results.
  • Provide inputs to other departments.
  • Modeling issues analysis.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for documenting activities, including design reports, validation reports, and user manuals. A strong background in electrical power systems, transmission and distribution networks, and grid elements is essential for this role.

Requirements include:

  • B.Sc or M.Sc or PhD in electrical or power systems engineering.
  • Experience with wind power plants or renewable energy power plants.
  • Knowledge of PSCAD, Fortran compilers, and encryption techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in Fortran and C.
