About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at EDP Energias de Portugal S.A. in Germany. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of our Health and Safety policies and procedures across all areas of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Regulatory Compliance: Assess and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including ISO 45001, and propose action plans to address any non-compliance issues.
  2. Risk Assessment and Management: Perform risk assessments of employees and contractors, and develop and implement plans to mitigate any identified risks.
  3. Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop plans to prevent future occurrences.
  4. Health and Safety Inspections: Conduct regular health and safety inspections at our operations and maintenance sites.
  5. Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present regular health and safety reports to management and stakeholders.
  6. Contractor Management: Ensure that all contractors are aware of and comply with our health and safety policies and procedures.
  7. Technical Support: Provide technical support to other departments on health and safety matters.
  8. Training and Development: Support the development of health and safety training programs for employees and contractors.
  9. Management System Implementation: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of our Health and Safety Management System.
Requirements
  1. Academic Qualifications: Occupational Health and Safety Officer or equivalent qualification.
  2. Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
  3. Knowledge and Skills:
    • Knowledge of PV plants and wind farms.
    • Understanding of risks associated with electricity and working at heights.
    • Knowledge of German legislation and ISO 45001.
    • Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
    • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  4. Language Skills: High level of German and fluent English.
