About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven individual to join our Energy Infrastructure Team as an Energy Projects Manager.

The successful candidate will interact with various stakeholders, including public utility companies, to prospect and secure the necessary energy capacity to support the growth of our business in 2-3 countries within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) footprint.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically about our company, our technical challenges, and possess a set of skills to support the development and execution of innovative solutions that ensure energy does not constrain business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with public utility companies and other stakeholders to identify energy capacity opportunities for new AWS data centers.
  • Obtain energy contracts from public utility companies for new AWS data centers in expansion.
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive energy growth strategy for AWS data centers.
  • Support the delivery of energy policy responses with Public Policy in the EMEA region.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for energy infrastructure cost savings and initiatives.
  • Collaborate in the implementation and management of energy projects in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Economics or other technical discipline.
  • Professional in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • 5+ years of experience in the energy industry, involving work with public utility companies.
  • Understanding of the electricity access process.
  • Analytical and commercial skills to review public utility tariffs and connection contracts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Requirements
  • Masters degree (MBA/MS).
  • Experience in designing or building high-voltage (HV) or medium-voltage (MV) substations or other energy infrastructure.
  • Experience working for public utility companies or energy regulators.
  • Experience working in energy policy.
  • Ability to converse in German, French, or Italian is beneficial.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services.
  • Experience in international business.
