Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead 3D Artist to join our team at Ubisoft Barcelona. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for leading the 3D art team and overseeing the production of high-quality 3D assets for our AAA games.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the 3D art team and provide guidance and support to team members
- Oversee the production of 3D assets, ensuring they meet technical requirements and artistic standards
- Collaborate with the Studio Art Director to establish artistic goals and objectives
- Validate produced assets and provide feedback to team members
- Support team members in their skill development and growth
- Own and maintain documentation on 3D processes and best practices
- Participate in performance follow-ups and contribute to team members' evaluations
- Point of contact for discussions between Art Direction, Technical Direction, and Strategy Team
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in a Senior/Lead Artist role in the videogames industry
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to delegate work
- Strong modelling, UV unwrapping, and texturing skills
- Good knowledge of 3Ds Max, Zbrush, Photoshop, Substance Painter, and Designer
- Knowledge of technical constraints relating to real-time and 3D engines
- Capacity to understand pipeline requirements and suggest improvements
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to take direction well and work in a team environment
