Job Title:

Senior Field Service Engineer - Switchgear

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to join our team at Vertiv. As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering project site works on LV switchgear panels, including installation, commissioning, testing, and handover to clients. You will also investigate site issues and breakdowns, complete preventative maintenance tasks, and prepare tools and test equipment for project activities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver project site works on LV switchgear panels, including installation, commissioning, testing, and handover to clients.
  2. Investigate site issues and breakdowns, and carry out repairs as necessary.
  3. Complete preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels.
  4. Prepare tools and test equipment for project activities.
  5. Communicate and interface with clients, sub-contractors, and internal departments to ensure timely progress and meet project milestones.
  6. Liaise with internal procurement for additional material requirements and manufacturing needs.
  7. Manage site-related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by relevant parties and uploaded to client portals.
  8. Ensure safe working practices on-site and adherence to HSE procedures.
  9. Undertake varying levels of security clearance and criminal record checking for customer sites.
  10. Attend customer sites across a defined geographical area.
  11. Participate in an on-call rota.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 3+ years' experience in a site/client-facing role.
  2. Recognised qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  3. Experience with dealing with clients/customers in a professional manner.
  4. Familiarity with all aspects of electrical panel testing and fault finding.
  5. Competency in primary and secondary injection testing.
  6. Competency in flash testing.
  7. Good working knowledge of LV Switchgear and Protection devices.
  8. Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety.
  9. Familiarity with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation.
  10. Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests/Site Acceptance Tests.
  11. Excellent communication skills.
  12. Fully flexible to work additional hours on request.
Desirable:
  1. Electrical Engineering Background.
  2. Knowledge of PC Software.
  3. HND/HNC or equivalent qualification.
  4. Working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems.
  5. Experience in Troubleshooting.
  6. Time served or equivalent.
  7. Electrical Trade background would be advantageous.
  8. Experience in working within an electrical service environment.
