JOB OVERVIEW

The Robotics and Automation Division at EURECAT is seeking a dedicated researcher to focus on Autonomous Navigation for Ground Mobile Robots. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in path planning and SLAM methodologies. This role involves tackling various challenges in sectors such as agriculture, logistics, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.

Our robotics team excels in applied research and development within Service and Industrial Robotics. We aim to enhance robot autonomy and intelligence, facilitating more sophisticated robotic behaviors. Key areas of focus include aerial and terrestrial autonomous navigation, industrial robotics, manipulation, human-robot collaboration, perception, cognition, and robotic behavior.

Over the past 15 years, our group has amassed extensive experience in delivering solutions for both industrial and service clients, alongside contributing to numerous successful European and Spanish robotics projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the conceptualization and development of innovative robotic ideas.
  • Provide scientific insights to advance project objectives.
  • Engage in software development, ensuring high-quality applied research.
  • Offer occasional support for robot integration, field trials, and maintenance.
  • Participate in scientific publications.
  • Assist in project management to guarantee effective project execution.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients and consortium partners.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD, MSc, or equivalent experience in Robotics, AI, Computer Vision, or a related field.
  • Strong scientific foundation in Autonomous Navigation, particularly in Path Planning and/or SLAM. Familiarity with Semantics, 3D vision, mechanics, and electronics is advantageous.
  • Proficient knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) and solid programming skills, primarily in C++.
  • Understanding of low-level control systems for ground robots.
  • Experience with communication protocols and interoperability, such as CAN, ISOBUS, and sockets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, along with flexibility and creativity.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
