Job Summary
Urbanasearch is seeking a seasoned Procurement Director to lead the development and implementation of a centralized sourcing strategy across our widely spread network. As we embark on a period of sustained growth, we recognize the need to transform our procurement processes to drive efficiency, integrity, and cost advantages.
About the Role
As the Procurement Director, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a centralized procurement strategy that aligns with our business goals. You will manage a team of procurement professionals, leading them through this transformation journey with empathy and diplomacy. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and consolidate our extensive list of suppliers and subcontractors, bringing about improved governance and control.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support a centralized procurement and supplier management strategy, translating business goals into actionable procurement targets.
- Optimize supplier and subcontractor relationships, fostering strategic partnerships and driving continuous improvement in performance, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Develop and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders to determine products and service needs.
- Assume accountability and leadership for all procurement activities, including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts, and tender management.
- Drive improvement and innovation in procurement processes, supplier performance, purchasing technology, and best practice.
- Lead, manage, and resource a team of purchasing professionals, delegating tasks across departments when necessary.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and provide insights and recommendations to leadership on how best to leverage for the business.
Requirements
- Degree qualified with extensive knowledge and understanding of procurement strategies, processes, and frameworks.
- Experience leading procurement and supplier management activities, driving excellence in procurement practices and optimizing supplier relationships.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and manage key stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Track record of leading successful contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- External awareness, keeping abreast of market dynamics, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
