Software Development Engineer, Ring Device Services

At Amazon, we're on a mission to revolutionize the way people experience home security. As a Software Development Engineer on our Ring Device Services team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the next generation of apps and services that keep our customers safe and connected.
As a member of our cross-functional team, you'll collaborate with engineers and product managers to design, test, and iterate on solutions that drive innovation and excellence. You'll work on building low-latency systems with the required uptime of a security system, ensuring that our customers can rely on us to keep their homes and families secure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed systems and microservices that meet the highest standards of reliability and scalability.
- Develop robust and maintainable code with clear documentation, ensuring that our systems are easy to understand and maintain.
- Deliver customer value through iterative development, working towards longer-term systems that solve roadmap goals with increasing efficiency.
- Communicate status and changes to stakeholders, keeping everyone informed of updates to the original plan.
- Implement test automation on all code implemented, ensuring that our systems are thoroughly tested and reliable.
- Professional software development experience, with a strong background in programming languages such as Java, C++, or C#.
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, with a strong foundation in software engineering principles and practices.
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent, with advanced knowledge of software engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
