Main Responsibilities

The Commis Chef is a fundamental role within our culinary team, responsible for providing exceptional service and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Display a strong willingness to learn and develop professionally, aligning with the culinary team's goals and objectives.
  • Provide full cooperation to the Sous Chef and Chef de Parties on duty, ensuring seamless kitchen operations and exceptional service.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, daily features, and promotions, ensuring accuracy and consistency in food preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and standards, conducting quality checks and taste tests to ensure exceptional quality.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment, adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
  • Support the direction of Sous Chefs and Chef de Parties in maintaining EcoSure and Servesafe standards, ensuring accurate temperature logs and minimizing waste and spoilage.
  • Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers, minimizing wastage and spoilage.
  • Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate, supporting effective inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing kitchen requirements.

  • Previous experience in the culinary field, demonstrating a strong foundation in food preparation and presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the culinary team.
  • Highly responsible and reliable, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team, supporting the goals and objectives of the culinary team.
Physical Demands

This role requires:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift, with frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
Language

This role is available in English, supporting the diverse needs of our guests and team members.
