We are looking for a Mechanical Technician for a cutting-edge scientific project that aims to demonstrate the feasibility of nuclear fusion power generation for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER).

Responsibilities:

  • Receive instructions from the team leader, including drawings and handbooks.
  • Execute work with varying levels of supervision, depending on the task's technical complexity.
  • Analyze work packages and follow the sequence of the Instruction Production Plan to achieve desired quality and efficiency.
  • Prepare workstations before execution.
  • Fit up complex geometrical parts before assembly, including positioning and grinding.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and trolleys safely to move loads through crowded areas.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards according to specifications.
  • Clean parts before assembly and maintain a clean workstation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in heavy boilermaking work.
  • 3-10 years of experience in the requested position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and codes.
  • Writing of weekly and/or daily reports.
  • Writing of details test reports and conclusion.
  • Proficiency in Advanced English or French, with Spanish as a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Crane operator certification.
  • Working at height, including harness use.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Operating forklifts and lifting platforms.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Meticulous, precise, skilled, and dexterous.
  • Sense of order and planning.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt.

Key Competencies:

  • Multidisciplinary profile, including welder, boilermaker, assembler, machinist, or willingness to train in these areas.
  • Training in bridge crane, forklift, and work at height.
  • Availability and interest in working abroad for extended periods.
