We are seeking an experienced Social Performance Specialist to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our Energy Environment and Social team, you will play a crucial role in delivering environmental services for energy projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct social and human rights impact assessments and develop management plans for energy projects in Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
- Perform social due diligence, Equator Principle compliance reviews, and construction monitoring for energy projects.
- Develop resettlement and indigenous peoples' development plans, public consultation and disclosure plans, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Manage labour rights and gender analysis for energy projects.
- Travel internationally to support project delivery.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Degree qualified in a discipline related to sociology, social or international development, or a similar social subject.
- Experience in carrying out social performance assessments for environmental and social impact assessments, due diligence, construction monitoring, and resettlement action plans for infrastructure projects.
- Ability to travel in Spain and internationally.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with experience working in a team environment.
- Fluency or work proficiency in Spanish.
- Broad awareness or masters qualification in a social discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in supply chain analysis, Environmental Social Governance services, Just Transition, gender equality and empowerment, and human rights impact assessment.
- Knowledge of the European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (EU CSRD) requirements.
- Knowledge of the social impacts of energy projects such as solar, hydro, wind, and thermal generation technologies.
- Membership of a relevant professional institute.
