Energy Projects Manager Job Description

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Energy Projects Manager to join our Infrastructure Energy Team in EMEA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive power growth strategy for our EMEA data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and execution of a power growth strategy for AWS's EMEA data centers.
  2. Prospect for, originate, and contract the power capacity needed to support data center delivery.
  3. Identify risks in power grid delivery and operation, and develop mitigations in collaboration with partner teams.
  4. Develop cost-saving projects and initiatives related to grid and network infrastructure.
  5. Collaborate with electricity utilities and external stakeholders to develop strategies supporting AWS's EMEA expansion.
  6. Work with AWS's Public Policy team to develop policies and guidelines enabling broader AWS strategies and objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
  2. 7-10+ years delivery track record in the electric utility/energy industry, including project management experience.
  3. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Proven track record of cultivating strong relationships with key clients and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's Degree in relevant discipline (MBA/MS).
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  3. Experience designing, developing, and delivering HV/MV electric infrastructure.
  4. Experience of IT infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services.
  5. Ability to converse in French, German, Swedish, or Italian is advantageous.
  6. Experience working on energy policy initiatives.
