Quality Engineer Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer Senior to join our team at Cummins, specializing in quality for our Powergen Office in Spain. This role requires a strong understanding of quality systems, statistical analysis, and problem-solving techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve Quality Certifications: Implement best practices and industry-proven methodologies to drive zero-defect components and continuous improvement projects.
  • Utilize Statistical Tools: Leverage statistical analysis and quality control tools to monitor and improve supplier performance.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Apply root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to address and resolve quality challenges within the supply base.
  • Enhance Supplier Quality: Develop and ensure suppliers meet customer requirements, leading to higher quality products.
  • Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Collaborate with suppliers to validate and optimize their manufacturing processes.
  • Support Supplier Selection: Contribute to the cross-functional supplier selection process, ensuring chosen suppliers are capable of delivering high-quality components.
  • Strengthen Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and external customers.
  • Improve Supply Chain Management: Apply supply chain management principles to support supplier development and mitigate risks.
Requirements:
  • Effective Communication: Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications that address the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Auditing Expertise: Apply auditing skills and Quality Management Systems knowledge to appraise manufacturing processes for quality and safety risks.
  • Technical and Manufacturing Knowledge: Utilize understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles, Engineering Standards, and manufacturing technology to design and validate zero-defect manufacturing processes.
  • Problem Solving and Quality Influence: Employ systematic problem-solving techniques and leverage industry standards to identify root causes and implement data-based solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Significant experience in quality engineering or a similar role.
  • Preferably, experienced in a Manufacturing or Engineering role, ideally within the power generation industry or related to the data center market.
