Quality Engineer Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer Senior to join our team at Cummins Inc. in San Fernando de Henares, Spain. This is a hybrid role with onsite expectations in Madrid, requiring both domestic and international travel to audit and assess supplier sites as needed.

This role involves achieving quality certifications, utilizing statistical tools, and driving continuous improvement. You will work closely with suppliers to validate and optimize their manufacturing processes, ensuring they conform to engineering standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality systems and methodologies to drive zero-defect components and continuous improvement projects.
  • Leverage statistical analysis and quality control tools to monitor and improve supplier performance.
  • Apply root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to address and resolve quality challenges within the supply base.
  • Enhance supplier quality by developing and ensuring suppliers meet customer requirements.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes by collaborating with suppliers to validate and optimize their processes.
  • Support supplier selection by contributing to the cross-functional supplier selection process.
  • Strengthen relationships by building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and external customers.

Requirements:

  • Effective communication and customer focus.
  • Auditing expertise and quality management systems knowledge.
  • Technical and manufacturing knowledge, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
  • Problem-solving and quality influence skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject.
  • Significant experience in quality engineering or a similar role.
