Job Title: Chassis Design Engineer

Applus IDIADA is seeking a skilled Chassis Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Chassis Systems Design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing chassis systems for various vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop chassis systems, including suspensions, brakes, steering systems, and wheels and tyres.
  • Ensure effective packaging of components and systems within the vehicle.
  • Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure its accuracy.
  • Support the development of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan (DVP).
  • Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles in the design process.
  • Manage suppliers and ensure timely delivery of components.
  • Support the assembly of mule and prototype vehicles as required.
  • Develop technical specifications for chassis components.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports.
  • Participate in project meetings and design reviews.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Engineering, specializing in Mechanics or Automotive.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry, preferably with OEMs or Tier 1 component suppliers.
  • Knowledge of chassis systems, manufacturing techniques, and materials.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5 2D/3D design software.
  • Knowledge of CAE and simulation tools, such as ADAMS and Patran/Nastran.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles and tolerance analysis.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
