Job Description:

A position as a Production Support Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in a dynamic and innovative environment. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for the production of complex aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support production activities related to MRTT conversion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.
  • Coordinate a multifunctional team to achieve delivery goals without pending works, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Health and Safety, FOD, and Housekeeping standards are accomplished in the area, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Achieve the required level of quality while reducing the cost of non-quality, implementing effective quality control measures.
  • Follow the schedule and implement continuous improvement to reduce costs and lead time, optimizing production processes.
  • Adhere to Job Cards instructions and MI tasks associated with continuous improvement, ensuring seamless execution of production activities.
  • Organize different tasks to achieve a high level of efficiency, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet production goals.
  • Complete conversion tasks within established budget and propose cost-reduction strategies when possible, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Manage incidents generated at shop floor level and control their flow, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to production.
  • Contribute to Production excellence by managing and leading Production tools, implementing best practices and standards.
  • Enhance staff expertise by increasing their capabilities and skills, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Work in double shifts, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Provide shop floor support to solve issues during manufacturing processes, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on production.
  • Support the multi-functional team in problem-solving and improvement processes, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain manufacturing structure and process documentation (work order, technical instruction, job card, etc.) and ensure it is updated, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Incorporate manufacturing feedback (KAIZEN, Practical Problem Solving), implementing effective feedback mechanisms.
  • Update documentation, technical solutions, improvement proposals, and implementation plans, ensuring seamless execution of production activities.
  • Assist the department during aircraft conversion into MRTT, particularly disassembling and ensuring aircraft stress is managed, ensuring safe and efficient execution of production activities.
  • Maintain facilities in adequate order in compliance with HK, FOD, and safety standards, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Requirements:
  • Educated in an Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of aerospace systems and production processes.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Production or Engineering Manufacturing, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products and driving business growth.
  • Experience in A330/green aircraft/modified aircraft and tanker systems, with a strong understanding of complex aerospace systems.
  • Management of all qualifications of personnel and facilities required from Airworthiness Authorities, both civil and military, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Language skills: English and Spanish at an advanced level, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in SIPLA, Digital Bar Chart, SNT, DEMAT, CATIA, with experience in planning systems and project management.
  • Team spirit, autonomy, and willingness to learn, with a proactive mindset and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
