Job Title: Senior Field Service Engineer - Switchgear

Vertiv is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our service delivery team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality service and support to our customers across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver project site works on LV switchgear panels, including installation, commissioning, testing, and handover to clients.
  • Investigate site issues and breakdowns, with a view to carrying out repairs as necessary.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels.
  • Prepare tools, test equipment, and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.
  • Communicate and interface with clients, sub-contractors, and internal departments to ensure timely progress and meet project/contract milestones.
  • Liaise with internal procurement for additional material requirements/manufacturing needs to close out snag lists.
  • Manage site-related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
  • Ensure safe working practices on-site and adherence to relevant HSE procedures.
  • Be willing to undertake varying levels of security clearance and criminal record checking for customer sites with enhanced security procedures.
  • Attend customer sites across a defined geographical area.
  • Fully participate in an on-call rota (as defined locally).
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in a site/client-facing role.
  • Recognised qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with dealing with clients/customers in a professional manner.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of electrical panel testing and fault finding.
  • Competency in primary and secondary injection testing.
  • Competency in flash testing.
  • Good working knowledge of LV Switchgear and Protection devices.
  • Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety.
  • Familiarity with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentation.
  • Experience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests/Site Acceptance Tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fully flexible to work additional hours on request.
Desirable:
  • Electrical Engineering background.
  • Knowledge of PC Software.
  • HND/HNC or equivalent qualification.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control Systems.
  • Experience in Troubleshooting.
  • Time served or equivalent.
  • Electrical Trade background would be advantageous.
  • Experience in working within an electrical service environment.

This is a site-based role, and the majority of work time will be based on-site or travelling. A full driving license is required.
