The Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead our engineering efforts across product areas. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for:
- Providing technical leadership and decision-making on architecture and other technical aspects of our product.
- Actively contributing to resolving challenges through code reviews, system design discussions, and hands-on coding to support and coach team members.
- Leading by example, coaching, and mentoring others to inspire and develop a software engineering team.
- Evaluating performance and helping improve it if necessary.
- Collaborating with Area Product Owner and other key stakeholders to drive business-technical metrics and organizational structure.
- Navigating change and discovering innovative solutions with your team and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
- Overseeing the team's strategy, quarterly goals, business-technical metrics, and organizational structure.
- Evaluating Area and Teams performance and unblocking obstacles.
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 7+ years of experience working in a product team as a PHP developer (we use PHP 8).
- A track record of successfully leading and scaling cross-functional development teams with backend and frontend scope (ideally at least two years' experience in an Engineering Manager role).
- A high level of hands-on technical experience in software development and architecture, with several years of experience working as a senior software developer.
- Profound expertise in back-end software development and system design.
- A willingness to enjoy a 30% share of hands-on technical work (code and architecture reviews, technical design, hands-on coding).
