Occupational Therapist PRN Float Specialist

As an Occupational Therapist with 100 LCMC Health, you will have the opportunity to work with patients to achieve their highest level of independence following a brain injury, physical trauma, or stroke. Your expertise and compassion will be invaluable in helping patients regain their functional abilities and live a more fulfilling life.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Occupational Therapy Services: Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate occupational therapy for patients, ensuring excellent outcomes and a safe environment.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work alongside physicians, nurses, and therapists to develop and implement effective occupational therapy initiatives.
- Advocate for Patient Safety: Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, and engage with them regarding significant events or concerns.
- Ensure Continuity of Care: Coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with the care team, and provide an exceptional patient experience.
- Consult with Supervisor: Seek guidance when needed to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
- Patient and Family Education: Initiate education using appropriate resources, teaching patients and families occupational therapy skills and techniques to facilitate functional abilities.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement treatment plans, reassessing and revising goals as indicated by patient progress.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document charges, treatment plans, and patient progress, using approved terminology and forms.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Contribute to assigned PI committee activities and share information with OT staff.
- Team Collaboration: Assist others without being asked, contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited curriculum in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensure: Occupational Therapy (OT) license in the State of Louisiana through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME).
- Certification: Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
