Occupational Therapist Part-Time Cancer Rehabilitation Opportunity

As an Occupational Therapist, you'll play a vital role in helping patients achieve their full potential and regain independence after a brain injury, physical trauma, or stroke.
We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans, prioritize patient care, and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of occupational therapy plans, prioritizing patient needs and collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to ensure seamless care coordination and exceptional patient outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment, advocating for patient needs and well-being.
- Engage with patients, families, and care teams to address concerns, provide education, and promote continuity of care.
- Ensure efficient throughput, consistent communication, and an exceptional patient experience.
- Consult with supervisors when faced with challenges or concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Develop and implement patient education programs, teaching occupational therapy skills and techniques to promote functional abilities.
- Evaluate and interpret assessment findings, setting goals and utilizing staff resources effectively.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, revising goals as needed based on patient progress.
- Accurately document charges and treatment plans, using approved terminology and forms.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, sharing knowledge and best practices with OT staff.
- Contribute to a positive team culture, assisting colleagues without being asked.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Occupational Therapy license in the State of Louisiana through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
