About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Android mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality Android mobile applications that meet our customers' needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate design approaches, prototype technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Lead the architecture and design of features from conception to launch.
  • Contribute to improving engineering processes and tools to increase team effectiveness.
  • Participate in an agile development process to deliver high-quality software.
  • Work closely with UI and Design System teams to ensure seamless user experiences.
About the Team

Our team focuses on developing a UI framework that enables the creation of consistent, user-friendly, and accessible applications. We work closely with design and mobile teams to build solutions that satisfy and delight our users. Our approach is data-driven, emphasizing ownership and a customer-centric strategy to deliver innovative and seamless experiences.

Requirements
  • Experience in professional software development, with a focus on Android mobile application development.
  • Experience designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language, including Android mobile application development experience in Kotlin.
  • Experience contributing to unit testing of mobile applications.
  • Experience writing custom UI components.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience developing applications using Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience with accessibility in mobile applications.
  • Experience with frameworks like Coroutines, Flows, RxJava.
  • Experience optimizing apps UI performance.
  • Experience programming with Python.
  • Experience with Dagger.
  • Experience with Design Systems.
  • Experience with REST architecture for web services.
