Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Account Manager - Energy will play a key role in driving business growth and developing new opportunities in the energy market segment. This individual will be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, identifying new business prospects, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow business with existing customers and attract new customers to Graybar.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the energy market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present project quotations and customer bids, including coordinating with multiple Graybar resources and suppliers.
  • Enter opportunities, leads, and contact information into Salesforce.
  • Handle written correspondence with customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide technical support to customers and end-users, and assist Account Managers throughout Graybar as needed.
  • Continuously work with customers post-sale to resolve problems and provide support in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Provide customer feedback to the Energy & Sustainability Sales Manager in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in training sessions, trade shows, branch meetings, and sales meetings as requested.
  • Stay informed of local competition and market conditions, and recommend new items for stock.
  • Deal with product-related problems, such as returns, defects, and warranty claims.
  • Research and cold-call customers as directed.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Three years of relevant sales or industry experience.
  • Experience in design or engineering of solar projects.
  • Passion for sales and drive to actively seek out new business.
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize work while operating with minimal supervision.
  • Broad knowledge of industry products and services, with the ability to effectively present these to customers and staff.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to cultivate and develop customer loyalty.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and management, both internally and externally.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
