Job Summary

The Data Privacy Associate/Paralegal will be a key member of Visa's Global Privacy Office, reporting to the Senior Counsel. This role will involve work across the Europe region and will play a crucial part in driving Visa's business growth and innovation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on various topics and produce clear, concise updates and guidance to support Visa's data privacy initiatives.
  • Play a vital role in Visa's fulfillment of data subject access requests, applying legal concepts and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Perform data privacy assessments for key Visa suppliers and maintain legally required records to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Administer and manage data privacy-related registrations and other key functions to support the Global Privacy Office.
  • Support Global Privacy Office lawyers, including the European Data Protection Officer, on complex legal queries and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the broader Global Privacy Office and Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance team to identify synergies and efficiencies.
  • Engage with other departments as necessary, including supplier management, to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.

Requirements

  • Hold a university law degree and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, as well as work independently.
  • Display analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage a varied and busy workload.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, high level of integrity, and intellectual curiosity, with a willingness to learn new skills and take on greater levels of responsibility.
  • Be fluent in English and possess a strong understanding of the fintech and payments industry.
  • Prior experience at a recognized law firm and/or in-house legal environment is preferred, as well as prior data privacy experience and relevant certifications.
