Accountant Role Profile
The Accountant will oversee the management of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and preparing financial reports for St George Barcelona.
As a key member of the school team, the Accountant reports to the Head of Finance and is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy under Spanish GAAP and IFRS GAAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable, including the purchase ordering process, supplier invoices, and payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and record and reconcile taxes into the financial software.
- Process month-end and year-end accounting, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurately stated.
- Coordinate the information flow with schools to secure supplier information and monitor and record personal and company expenses.
- Manage the Capex module, perform general ledger reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
