Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned expert to serve as the Senior Director of Healthcare Innovation at IE University's School of Science and Technology. This role involves leading innovation and research initiatives, building partnerships with industry, and spearheading education and knowledge transfer programs that address the evolving challenges and opportunities within healthcare.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in computer science, engineering, or data science with proven expertise in the healthcare sector. They will have a clear vision for how emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, robotics, digital health platforms, biotechnology, and data analytics can transform healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and optimize operational efficiency across the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to drive innovation and growth in the healthcare sector.
  • Cultivate and manage partnerships with industry sponsors, healthcare organizations, and technology companies to develop knowledge transfer projects and applied consultancy services.
  • Direct research and development initiatives that leverage AI, machine learning, health informatics, and robotics to create innovative solutions for healthcare challenges.
  • Stay at the forefront of healthcare technology trends, anticipating future developments, and ensuring the lab remains a leader in innovation.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field (computer science, engineering, data science, etc.).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector, with a strong track record of innovation and leadership.
  • Proven expertise in emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and robotics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
