Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Medical Director to join our team at the University of Florida. This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.

About the Role:

  • Reviews daily abuse reports to determine mandatory referrals for consultation with CPT, as per state statute, and identifies situations requiring medical examination or further testing/hospital services/record reviews in conjunction with supervisors and the medical director.
  • Provides diagnostic evaluations and medical consultations regarding abused and neglected children under the direction of the Medical Director, taking patient histories, conducting physical examinations, and recording data in patient records; writes progress notes and narrative discharge summaries, prepares patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings, and prepares medical reports.
  • Consults with Case Coordinators, Program Coordinators, and participates in Case Reviews and Team Staffing's, referring children exhibiting abnormal findings for additional physician evaluation, providing physician and pharmacist referrals to patients in need of further medical care and services.
  • Provides depositions and court testimony as required.
  • Maintains inventory and ordering of medical supplies, assisting with recertification of clinic licensing and applications for medical supplies.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and expansion of programs and initiatives, participating in meetings, functions, events, and committees, as well as in a team of interdisciplinary healthcare providers, performing all other duties assigned.

What We Offer:

$120,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Masters' degree with a major in nursing or another health-related area; licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with Chapter , Florida Statutes.
  • Experience in pediatrics, sexual and physical abuse preferred.
