Job Description: Senior Accountant II, VAT
This role will work cross-functionally with Global Indirect Tax, Statutory Accounting, Business Operations & Corp AP and Finance team members to enable accurate and timely indirect tax compliance & reporting, whilst also focusing on innovation & automation within this space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of legal entities' indirect tax compliance & accounting processes
- Prepare and post VAT journal entries and own the validation & reconciliation of various tax accounts via Blackline certification processes
- Work with the rest of the team to implement opportunities to further improve, innovate, automate and evolve our tax compliance function using the latest tools & technology (e.g. Alteryx, Power Apps)
- Continuously build and nurture collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams within Expedia to support work initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 2-3 years of prior experience in finance/accounting roles, preferably with industry experience within a progressive high technology industry
- Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to meet deadlines and prioritize workload
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
