**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer to join our team at BD, a global leader in medical technology. As a Senior Staff Engineer - Process Development, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Collaborate with DTO Intelligent Automation leadership and key staff members to develop site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps, inclusive of digital solutions, machine learning, and commonality of technical solutions across sites.
  • Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality in collaboration with DTO Intelligent Automation technical systems engineers.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes with manufacturing site teams, identifying areas for improvement and recommending technological solutions.
  • Complete process concept, project charters, business justification, risk analysis, feasibility/proof of concept, automation FAT, SAT, and validation.
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments, pilot-scale studies, and technology transfer activities.
  • Manage external contractors and vendors for process development and technology transfer projects.
  • Collaborate with DTO team members and other required functions to develop and implement playbooks for the implementation and replication of intelligent automation technology solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues, improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures when required.
  • Maintain strong relationships with counterparts in Manufacturing/Operations, business units, Global Integrated Engineering, BD Excellence, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance, ensuring timely and transparent alignment of strategies and goals.
  • Provide mentoring and build engineering capabilities to support the continuous evolution of Intelligent automation technology through skills identification and assessment, capability building, and training of associates including the engineering support organization, site operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Ensure intelligent automation solutions drive value through increased asset utilization, improving OEE, optimizing labor, improving quality, reducing costs, and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high level of scientific and technical knowledge and stay updated on the latest industry trends and best practices.
