About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Project Manager to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a key member of our Project Management Office (PMO), you will be responsible for managing research projects from proposal preparation to execution and closure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the primary point of contact for the Heads of Area and the PMO coordinator, maintaining a strategic overview of the area's objectives and future opportunities.
  • Ensure relevant databases and control documents are complete and up to date for the area of responsibility.
  • Lead recruitment processes for project managers, distribute work, define, follow-up, and evaluate objectives for the project manager(s) under their responsibility.
  • Project Coordination: Plan resource utilization, monitor progress, anticipate problems, maintain communication with the Principal Investigator, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Detect, communicate, and explore funding opportunities, maintaining a call calendar with department directors.
  • Proposal Management: Carry out administrative work needed for BSC researchers in project proposals, ensuring administrative requirements are met.
  • Contract Management: Ensure rigorous contract management, facilitating collaboration while protecting the centre's interests.
  • Collaborate to improve the operation of the PMO by sharing best practices.
Requirements
  • University Degree and related courses in project management and research project proposal preparation.
  • At least 5 years' experience in Research project Management.
  • Experience coordinating research proposals and projects funded by the Framework Programme and the Plan Estatal.
  • Excellent knowledge of the rules and regulations of European and national funding programs.
  • Experience negotiating and managing contracts with public and private entities.
  • Knowledge of the HPC research system in Europe.

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona. A full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support for relocation procedures are also included.
