About the Role
The Computational Oncology Group at the Spanish National Cancer Centre (CNIO) is seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the development of computational approaches for cancer research. As a member of the Macintyre Lab, you will work closely with the team to develop innovative algorithms for analysing whole-genome sequencing data and identifying chromosomal instability patterns in cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and apply computational methods for analysing large-scale genomic data
- Collaborate with the research team to design and implement new algorithms for identifying chromosomal instability patterns
- Work with clinical collaborators to integrate orthogonal data and characterise new chromosomal instability signatures
- Design and develop a web-based tool for leveraging advances in cancer genomics
- Contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive research environment
Requirements
- PhD degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, physics, or statistics
- Proven expertise in bioinformatics, particularly in cancer genomics, tumour evolution, and mutational signature analysis
- Experience in analysing whole-genome sequence data
- Coding experience in R and Python
- Experience with high-performance and/or cloud computing
- Excellent manuscript writing skills
- Fluency in English
