About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and result-driven Engineering Manager with a strong technical background in Frontend Web development, particularly with Ember.Js, to lead our Frontend team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead a team of Frontend engineers by example, setting high standards for code quality, performance, and best practices.
  • Team Management: Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the Frontend engineering team.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and coach team members to ensure their growth and development.
  • Product Development: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and execute the Frontend product roadmap.
  • Architecture and Design: Drive the design and architecture of Frontend applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.
  • Code Reviews and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular code reviews and implement best practices for code quality and test coverage.
  • Innovation: Stay at the forefront of Frontend development, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies.
  • Recruitment: Collaborate with HR and talent acquisition teams to identify, hire, and onboard top-tier Frontend engineering talent.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering leaders from other teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback to team members.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a software engineer with a focus on Frontend development.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in Frontend development, specifically Ember.Js.
  • Leadership Experience: Prior experience managing or leading a team of engineers.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, prior experience with Agile ways of working, ability to build agile and high-performing teams, passion for education, and a commitment to improving learning experiences.
