Fire Assayer Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fire Assayer to join our team at ALS. As a Fire Assayer, you will play a critical role in the precious metal recovery process, working with high-temperature furnaces and laboratory equipment to extract valuable metals from samples.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately weigh and prepare samples for the fire assay process.
- Fuse mixtures in a high-temperature furnace to extract precious metals, including gold.
- Perform cupellation and prilling daily to collect and prepare metal samples.
- Conduct thorough inspections of samples, fusion pots, lead buttons, and prills before laboratory testing.
- Record any anomalies to ensure the accuracy and quality of the assay process.
- Adhere strictly to fire assay safety procedures, proactively identifying and addressing potential safety issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Flexibility and reliability to meet the dynamic demands of the department.
- Ability to thrive in a physically demanding, high-temperature work environment.
