We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Fire Assayer to join our team at ALS Geochemistry in Malaga. As a Fire Assayer, you will be responsible for accurately weighing samples and adding flux reagents as part of the fire assay process. You will also fuse mixtures in a high-temperature furnace to extract precious metals, including gold.

- Fuse mixtures in a high-temperature furnace to extract precious metals, including gold.
- Perform cupellation and prilling daily to collect and prepare metal samples.
- Conduct thorough inspections of samples, fusion pots, lead buttons, and prills before laboratory testing.
- Record any anomalies to ensure the accuracy and quality of the assay process.
- Adhere strictly to fire assay safety procedures, proactively identifying and addressing potential safety issues.
As a Fire Assayer at ALS, you will receive a competitive hourly rate of $33.53, plus shift allowances of 15% for the afternoon shift and 20% for the night shift. You will also have the opportunity to secure a full-time position and earn higher pay rates as you build your experience in this role.
In addition, you will receive penalty rates for any weekend or other overtime, and will be eligible for a range of benefits, including health fund discounts, corporate superannuation benefits, and online learning opportunities.
