Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of SREs: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Site Reliability Engineers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to meet the team's objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with development teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that our platform meets the needs of our customers and business objectives.
- Define and implement best practices: Develop and implement best practices for monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting of infrastructure and applications.
- Design and implement automation tools: Design and implement automation tools and processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Work closely with development teams: Ensure that development teams design applications that are scalable and reliable.
- Participate in system design: Participate in the design and implementation of new systems and services to ensure they meet our reliability and scalability requirements.
- Manage team performance: Manage the team's performance, develop career paths, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies: Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and practices related to SRE and infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in SRE or related fields, with 2+ years of experience in managing teams.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, and databases. Proven experience in designing and implementing highly available and scalable applications. Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform). Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience with security and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, DORA) is a plus.
