About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our HR Services team at Trouw Nutrition. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee time information, working closely with our HR Service team, local HR Business Partners, and the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and apply payroll and benefit policies, principles, legislation, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Verify completed payroll and review reports for accuracy and completeness before distribution.
  • Prepare manual payroll cheques in compliance with established corporate procedures and update the payroll system for accuracy.
  • Liaise with payroll providers to handle system issues and required programming and updates.
  • Conduct research to provide accurate, current, and verifiable information, guidance, and assistance to employees on payroll-related subject matters.
  • Prepare remittances and reconcile payroll deductions, such as union dues, charity, statutory deductions, pension, and third-party deductions.
  • Align with the global Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on executing payroll processes.
  • Act as a liaison with governmental tax bodies and required government and third-party agencies, relating to payment of deductions and premiums.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, HR, or another relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of expertise.
  • Proven experience working on continuous improvement projects and project management.
  • Communication and written skills in French and English. Other languages are welcome.
  • Good communication skills, building relationships, and making connections between various internal and external contacts.

  • Analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
