About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our HR Services Hub. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering and processing payroll transactions for our assigned locations and Nutreco entities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Payroll Policy and Compliance

Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee time information, working closely with the HR Service team, local HRBP's and the business.

Payroll Administration

Verify completed payroll and review reports for accuracy and completeness before distribution.

Payroll Processing

Prepare manual payroll cheques in compliance with established corporate procedures and update the payroll system for accuracy.

Payroll Liaison

Liaise with payroll provider to handle all system issues and required programming and updates.

Research and Guidance

Conduct required or necessary research to provide accurate, current and verifiable information, guidance and assistance to employees on payroll related subject matters.

Remittances and Reconciliation

Prepare remittances and reconcile payroll deductions such as union dues, charity, statutory deductions, pension, all 3rd party deductions, and government filings.

Global Standard Operating Procedure

Align with the global Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on executing payroll processes.

Government and Third Party Liaison

Be a Company liaison with Governmental Tax body, and all required government and third party agencies, relating to payment of deductions and premiums.

Requirements
  1. Education

A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, HR or another relevant field.

Experience

3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of expertise.

Skills and Expertise

Proven experience working on continuous improvement projects and project management.

Language Skills

Communication and written skills in French and English. Other languages are welcome too.

Personal Qualities

Good communicator, building relationships, able to make connections between various internal and external contacts.

Operational Excellence

Strive to operational excellence and high quality, work in transparent and efficient way.

Critical Thinking

Analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
