About Quantum Technologies

Gradiant is at the forefront of developing innovative quantum technologies based on point defects in diamond. Our research focuses on harnessing the unique properties of diamond to create cutting-edge sensing and imaging solutions.

Our team is working on the development of a quantum diamond microscope (QDM) and exploring its applications in various fields. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD researcher to join our team and contribute to this exciting project.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Upgrade of the Quantum Diamond Microscope (QDM): Design, develop, and implement advanced techniques to enhance the sensitivity and resolution of the QDM.
  2. Characterization and Optimization: Characterize the magnetic sensing and imaging capabilities of the QDM using CW and pulsed ODMR techniques, and optimize its sensitivity.
  3. Design and Implementation of NV-CMOS Integrated Quantum Sensor: Develop and integrate a novel quantum sensor based on NV centers in diamond, along with the design and modeling of on-chip initialization and readout for ODMR.
  4. Scientific Communication and Documentation: Present research results at international conferences, write technical documentation, and publish scientific papers.
  5. PhD Thesis: Conduct original research and write a PhD thesis on the results of the project.
Requirements
  1. MSc Degree in Physics, Nanotechnology, or Electronics: A strong background in condensed matter physics, optics, photonics, and/or microelectronics is essential.
  2. Research Experience: Previous experience in quantum sensing, integrated photonics, and/or CMOS technology is highly desirable.
  3. Laboratory Experience: Familiarity with optical systems and laboratory equipment is required.
  4. Teamwork and Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.
  5. English Language Proficiency: Strong written and spoken English skills are necessary for effective communication and documentation.
