Breeder Specialist

At Enza Zaden, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Breeder to join our Tomato breeding department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing competitive tomato varieties that meet our long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities:- Translate breeding targets into operational and tactical breeding plans, adjusting goals as needed to align with our crop strategy.
- Oversee breeding projects, ensuring timely completion and quality results.
- Implement FAIR principles in data records, ensuring accurate and accessible data throughout the breeding cycle.
- Define data standards and quality controls for key decision milestones, driving data-driven breeding approaches.
- Coach and motivate colleagues in knowledge exchange and material sharing.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and modern breeding techniques, applying them to our breeding program.
- Participate in decision-making to advance varieties and plan productions and screening trials.
- Collaborate with commercial teams on market visits to gather insights on market trends and direction.
- Higher professional education (HBO, Bachelor) in a relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in plant breeding, with a focus on row field crops.
- Thorough knowledge of plant breeding, modern methods, and quantitative genetics.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in intense weather conditions.
