We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Renewable Energy Storage Systems to join our client's dynamic team. As a key member of the development team, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the seamless integration of battery energy storage systems into our renewable energy projects.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the formulation and execution of the company's energy storage strategy across all operational territories, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Provide strategic support to the development team in identifying project origination opportunities and closely collaborate with the Operations Department to conduct comprehensive analyses of utility-scale storage projects.
- Conceptualize and configure storage systems, meticulously assessing design specifications and evaluating a spectrum of technological options to maximize efficiency.
- Facilitate smooth coordination among multidisciplinary teams, navigating complex interconnection requirements, market dynamics, and project execution complexities.
- Oversee meticulous management of project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, fostering strong relationships with suppliers and procurement processes.
- Interact with key stakeholders such as Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to optimize network routes and facilitate complex connections.
- Drive the development of tender packages and draft detailed technical specifications to streamline the BESS component procurement process.
- Maintain strict project schedules, ensuring milestone compliance and proactively managing the storage procurement process to mitigate risks and optimize outcomes.
**Requirements**
- At least 15 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a proven track record of successful renewable energy project development from inception to commercial operation.
- Distinguished background in energy storage strategy and project management, with extensive experience in renewable energy project development and a nuanced understanding of BESS projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in navigating regulatory frameworks and leveraging deep knowledge of specific regulations to drive project development initiatives.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset, backed by a proactive approach to problem-solving and an unwavering commitment to sustainability.
- History of leadership in multinational environments, characterized by a strong ability to inspire and motivate teams toward shared goals.
- Visionary outlook, along with a strategic orientation toward business objectives and an unrelenting pursuit of innovation.
- Bachelor's degree with an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification.
