Energy Storage Systems Engineer

As an Energy Storage Engineer at Edp Renewables, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing the engineering activities of energy storage projects for utility-scale hybrid renewable (PV/wind) + storage and stand-alone storage projects in various regions. You will collaborate with local engineering teams to conduct technical planning and due diligence evaluations, determine optimal energy storage system sizing, and design utility-scale energy storage systems that maximize value for the lifetime cost of the system.
Main Responsibilities
Conduct technical planning and due diligence evaluations in collaboration with various departments.
Determine optimal energy storage system sizing based on technology, costs, application, contract structure, and other applicable constraints.
Design utility-scale energy storage systems and renewable assets + storage that maximize value for the lifetime cost of the system.
Support local engineering teams in preparing basic and execution projects for permitting.
Perform energy storage degradation and augmentation modeling for multiple technologies.
Coordinate and validate key system studies for the integration of the BESS in the whole project.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., electrical engineering, mechanical engineering).
5+ years of experience in energy storage engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of energy storage technologies and their applications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
