Linux Software Development Engineer Job Description:


Analog Devices is seeking an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to support our customer-facing solutions team.


The Linux Software Engineer is responsible for developing embedded device drivers and BSPs interfacing our products to various embedded processors including FPGAs.


Responsibilities include:



  • Architect, create and maintain Linux device drivers and software projects for embedded systems, processors and microcontroller based platforms.
  • Collaborate and work with Linux mainline maintainers to get your drivers accepted.
  • Work in close collaboration with the hardware team for developing new platforms.
  • Provide customer support through Linux subsystem mailing lists and the ADI Engineer Zone forum.

Requirements:



  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded Linux device drivers and software.
  • Good experience with at least one of the following subsystems: IIO, V4L, ALSA, Ethernet.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of software development languages, including but not limited to C, C++, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with SCM (svn, git), cross compiler and in-circuit debugging tools.
  • Excellent software design, problem solving and analytical debugging skills.
  • Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team to develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to comprehend large and complex technical documentation.
