Embedded Linux Software Engineer

Analog Devices is seeking a skilled Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join our customer-facing solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing embedded device drivers and BSPs that interface our products to various embedded processors, including FPGAs.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Architecting, creating, and maintaining Linux device drivers and software projects for embedded systems, processors, and microcontroller-based platforms.
  • Collaborating with Linux mainline maintainers to get your drivers accepted.
  • Working closely with the hardware team to develop new platforms.
  • Providing customer support through Linux subsystem mailing lists and the ADI Engineer Zone forum.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Computer Science (CS) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded Linux device drivers and software.
  • Good experience with at least one of the following subsystems: IIO, V4L, ALSA, Ethernet.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of software development languages, including C, C++, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with SCM (svn, git), cross compiler, and in-circuit debugging tools.
  • Excellent software design, problem-solving, and analytical debugging skills.
  • Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team to develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to comprehend large and complex technical documentation.
