The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Database team, you will be responsible for:

  • Database Maintenance and Performance: Ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our databases, including Microsoft SQL and DB2 LUW instances.
  • Customer Requirements and Technical Issues: Implement customer requirements, resolve technical issues quickly and thoroughly, and collaborate with partner teams to resolve problems.
  • Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain DB2 LUW instances and Microsoft SQL instances, ensuring compliance with security and access management best practices.
  • Compliance and Security: Manage the compliance process, including configuration-related security processes, access management, patch management, and other security-related tasks.
  • Database Migration: Manage migration processes, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to our services.
  • Collaboration and Optimization: Collaborate with development teams to optimize processes and procedures, ensuring the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least three years of experience managing Microsoft SQL databases in Windows environments and DB2 databases in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of scripting to automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • High Availability Environments: Familiarity with high availability environments, including MS SQL Server Cluster and DB2 HADR.
  • Operating Systems and Backup: Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, AIX, Linux), backup, monitoring, and storage.

Valuable Skills

  • Database Management: Knowledge of other database managers such as Sybase and PostgreSQL will be a plus.
