Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Shader Technical Artist to join our team. As a key member of our art department, you will be responsible for creating high-quality shaders and technical assets that bring our games to life.
Key Responsibilities- Shader Development: Utilize your expertise in Unreal Engine to craft and optimize shaders and master materials, ensuring seamless integration and user-friendly utilization by the materials team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to establish and uphold artistic and technical shader standards, pushing the boundaries of real-time rendering while adhering to performance constraints.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance in identifying and resolving inefficient content pipelines, conducting performance profiling, and optimizing shaders to enhance overall visual fidelity and maintain desired frame rates.
- Autonomy and Ownership: Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and autonomy in task execution, producing high-quality work with minimal oversight, and actively seeking opportunities to enhance pipeline efficiency and visual quality.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in creating stylized and PBR shaders using node-based shader editors, tiled layered material systems, shader networks, procedural texturing, and HLSL code.
- Platform Knowledge: Strong understanding of console, PC, and mobile platforms, and how to scale shaders to optimize for each.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate across disciplines, sharing ideas and articulating visions.
- Tools and Software: Proficiency in UE5, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Photoshop, modeling, baking, and texturing.
You are an experienced Senior Shader Technical Artist with a strong understanding of the technical foundations behind visually stunning textures and shaders in a physically-based rendering pipeline. You are passionate about growth and excellence, and thrive on sharing your knowledge with your teammates while continually honing your craft.
