About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Design System Lead to join our team at Preply, a pioneering EdTech company dedicated to unlocking human potential through language learning. As a key member of our Design System team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the design landscape for our platform and driving adoption across teams.

Job Description
As a Design System Lead, you will partner closely with product, design, engineering, and other stakeholders to understand team needs and build a Design System roadmap aligned with Preply's mission. You will lead initiatives across the design community to increase adoption, support best practices, and incorporate feedback. Your expertise in owning, creating, scaling, and driving adoption of Design Systems will be instrumental in establishing a consistent, inclusive design language across our platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tools, components, guidelines, and standards to establish a cohesive design language
- Collaborate with designers on system contributions, advocating for high standards and adherence to governance policies
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices, incorporating innovations into our system's architecture
- Write clear, accessible design documentation for various audiences
- Build a Design System roadmap aligned with Preply's mission

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience in owning, creating, scaling, and driving adoption of Design Systems (collections of components, assets, documentation, and tokens)
- Enthusiasm for developing your design skills, with expertise in visual design fundamentals and UX/UI design
- Knowledge of design tools, specifically Figma plugins, and integrations
- Familiarity with cross-platform web design and understanding of technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Storytelling and communication skills to share ideas effectively with a diverse audience
- Ability to build community and foster collaboration across teams
- A portfolio demonstrating your experience and approach to design

Salary Range
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
