The i2CAT Foundation is seeking a visionary Director to spearhead the Software Networks (SN) research area. This esteemed position involves leading a team of engineers and PhDs to drive innovation and excellence in intelligent service and resource orchestration & management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the achievement of i2CAT's strategic objectives, focusing on scientific and technological excellence.
- Lead, coordinate, and manage a team to achieve the goals of the SN area.
- Develop the professional careers of team members and define/update/maintain a research & innovation roadmap.
- Foster cross-collaboration with other research areas to tackle multi-technological problems and challenges.
- Manage resource planning for R&D in the different research lines of the area.
- Identify and plan the strategy for participation in relevant scientific WGs to ensure continuous scientific/technological watch.
The SN area investigates intelligent service and resource orchestration & management solutions combined with intent-based networking to cater to the requirements of verticals and its applications for next-generation networks. The team has a long track of participation in EU R&D projects, mainly related to the 5G/6G area of heterogeneous network management in multi-tenant environments.
Requirements:- Contribute to the achievement of i2CAT's strategic objectives.
