Job Overview

The selected candidate will serve as the primary coordinator for space missions, acting as the liaison between our clients and various stakeholders. This role involves overseeing the activities of the technical team engaged in the project, as well as managing the monitoring of expenses, deliverables, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties will be assigned to the candidate:

  • Oversee multiple space-related projects.
  • Develop project plans and monitor their execution.
  • Identify potential risks or challenges during project progression.
  • Facilitate communication with clients and stakeholders to manage action items, resolve issues, and negotiate changes in project scope.
  • Organize meetings and milestone reviews with clients.
  • Lead the technical team across various disciplines to meet project objectives.
  • Monitor project costs and time allocation in accordance with the project plan and internal company protocols.
  • Report project metrics, risks, and deviations to the operations team.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.

The following experience and skills are essential:

  • A minimum of 2 years in managing technical projects.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to international clients and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional proficiency in English (C1 level or equivalent).

Desirable qualifications and skills include:

  • Familiarity with PMI and agile methodologies.
  • Academic background in engineering.
  • Experience with aerospace projects adhering to ECSS management standards.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and similar quality management standards.
  • Experience in team leadership.
  • Experience in managing technical requirements.

The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating within a potentially international and culturally diverse team.

Additionally, the candidate should possess good analytical, organizational, and reporting skills, along with a proactive mindset for individual problem-solving and a keen interest in technological advancements.

Alén Space is a pioneering company in the New Space sector, dedicated to developing missions utilizing Nanosatellites, along with associated products and services. Our goal is to assist clients in crafting their business strategies by designing, manufacturing, and operating satellites tailored to their specific applications.

Despite being a relatively new entity, our team boasts over 15 years of experience in executing complete nanosatellite missions, from initial specifications to final delivery. Our technical team comprises systems engineers, electronic engineers, AIV engineers, software and operations engineers, and project managers, all with extensive experience in IOD, communication, commercial, and scientific missions, collaborating with both private and public organizations, including the European Space Agency.

Alén Space's competitive edge lies in the flexibility and expertise of our team. We employ rigorous design and testing methodologies, allowing us to utilize components from various suppliers to create the most suitable platform for each mission. Over the past decade, all our nanosatellite missions have been designed in-house, adhering to a multi-provider approach, resulting in a 100% success rate for all launched missions.

At Alén Space, quality and flexibility in design, manufacturing, and testing are fundamental principles. We ensure quality through thorough testing and verification processes, maintaining traceability of all activities. Our systems and AIV engineers collaborate closely with clients to make informed decisions and involve them throughout the process. We adhere to the stringent quality standards established by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) in all our management, system engineering, and AIV processes.
