About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investment Accounting Expert Associate Director to join our team at Zurich Australian Insurance Ltd. As a key member of our Change Delivery team, you will play a critical role in implementing changes related to our core system in a standardized and efficient way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for investment accounting expertise, providing input, insights, and guidance to the project team on accounting changes.
  • Collaborate with the project team and BAU experts to ensure seamless implementation of accounting changes.
  • Analyze changes impacting financial statements, including CoA, measurement, disclosure, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain functional training programs to ensure smooth handover and transition of new procedures to the business as usual team.
  • Drive standardization and automation efforts to minimize impacts and limitations from an end-user perspective.
  • Review and approve process changes, leading communication to drive the change and overseeing adaptation across all delivery teams.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge tools and documentation standards to fasten onboarding of new staff.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or equivalent postgraduate studies.
  • Over 5 years of experience in investment accounting or audit in a senior role overseeing Financial Statements and data preparation, including result analysis.
  • Subledger & General ledger systems/processes (SAP FAM would be an advantage).
  • Financial instruments accounting standards (e.g., IFRS9 or similar).
  • Understanding of Financial markets, products, risks, regulations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Passionate self-starter, very result-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking/transformation.
  • Managed or led 3-5 mid-size projects or optimization initiatives in Financial or Investment Accounting/Controlling or played a key role in them.
  • Fluent in English in written and oral (proficiency level).
  • Good base understanding of financial mathematics.
  • IT affinity is a plus.
